Heartfelt missions
Education is more than textbooks and exams. It is about creating students who have a well rounded experience and have acquired the soft skills necessary to succeed in the world of work. Leadership skills, communication and values are essential for students to not only succeed, but to be at the forefront of their chosen careers.
At NCHS, our students, staff, and academic community provide the foundation for students to develop values, as they come together to make a difference through hands-on CSR initiatives.
From supporting rural schools to bringing joy to children and families, each initiative is a reflection of what NCHS believes in.

May – Supporting a Rural School in Mawanella
As part of their academic curriculum, the Diploma of Business students led a CSR initiative to support a rural school in Mawanella. After understanding the schools needs, a strategy was done on how best NCHS could uplift the learning environment of the school.
Students, lecturers, and staff collectively contributed funds and donated essential supplies.
December – A Joyous Christmas Celebration
Christmas is for joy, laughter, sharing blessings and making new friends. The NCHS Welfare Society organised a heartfelt outreach at the Sisters of the Sacred Heart Child Development Centre in Ja-Ela.
Staff and students spent the day with festivities, and forged connections that demonstrated the meaning of Christmas.
May – Helping Communities Recover
In May 2022, following severe floods and landslides in the central region of Sri Lanka, NCHS Kandy extended support to families in the Parish of Kadiyanlena, a village in the Kandy district. Collaborating closely with Rev. Fr. Surendra Pragash of St. Joseph Vaaz Church, our students and staff visited the affected areas to distribute dry rations, bottled water, and other essential supplies.
This initiative aimed not only to provide immediate relief but also to offer comfort and reassurance to communities struggling with the aftermath of the disaster.
December –A New Beginning for Paragala Sinhala Vidyalaya
When NCHS learned of the urgent needs of Paragala Sinhala Vidyalaya, a small rural primary school in Kandy, the entire community came together to make a difference. Through donations and hands-on support, we helped establish a new computer lab, library, staff room, and other essential facilities to enhance learning for the students.
The school’s reopening ceremony was a celebration of hope and achievement. The students made the day extra special by showcasing their talents at the ceremony.
